The Floods!

The boys were couped up in the hotel room and we weren't having much success in the house hunting situation so what better way to pass the time than to enjoy the rain in Townsville... We decided to go for a drive to find all the roads in Townsville that flood in heavy rain! As Matt was enjoying the fact that we own a 4WD, I was forced to reminisce my previous flooding experience in my little ford festiva. I think that I am still slightly traumatised from driving 40km per hour through over a metre deep of water with the water splashing over my headlights which short circuited my car leaving me completely stranded in the middle of 20 metres of flooded road! Not to mention the fact that it was completely dark and the electricity was out... :)


Although we didn't get any photos of the main flood areas, a few days later we were driving back to the hotel and decided to drive down this road....
