A Party Weekend

The weekend began with a party: Thomas' last day at daycare and the Farewell Party at Clayfield Capers daycare. Thomas woke up on Friday morning saying 'I don't want to go to daycare today'. After quizzing him a few times on the matter it occurred to me that Thomas doesn't want to have to say goodbye... and unfortunately the time has come to say our goodbyes. Thomas had a wonderful day on Friday and after I worded up his group leader Nicole she decided not to make a fuss about his final day. Instead, Thomas enjoyed riding the bikes, playing in the sandpit and joining in on the daily activities like any other Friday. The daycare centre was decorated with balloons and streamers for the farewell party and although we didn't hang around for the daycare party we decided to have a 'Grills family' party of our own! Matt surprised the boys by blowing up balloons and decorating the lounge room with streamers. The boys were overjoyed when they found their beds covered in balloons! We took the boys out for dinner to Sizzler where they enjoyed the all you can eat dessert! WOW!

After eating all you can eat at Sizzler, I enjoyed a night out with the girls at Freestyles at the Emporium in the Valley. We all had such a great night out we lost track of time and didn't leave until after 11pm - a late night for mums whose day begins between 5am and 6am regardless! After arriving home just before midnight I was lucky enough to have been woken up by Zach, then Harry and then Thomas at different intervals throughout the remaining hours of the night leaving me to have a maximum of around an hour and a half in a row!

Saturday was spent doing 'stuff'. The bits'n'pieces around the house are finally completed and we can finally concentrate on packing! Although I spent the whole day out and about, I didn't manage to achieve anything much at all - except for voting which we actually remembered to do!

Saturday ended with a final curry night with good friends and work colleagues. We had a really lovely night and were really excited to see people from various areas of our lives turn up and mingle so well. 'Mona' was once again a topic of conversation and it seems that Matt's earlier comments have kept the noise level down as they were again heard from across the street while we were out on Thursday night! The neighbours across the road are hoping our house will be rented straight away so they are not subject to the noises of 'Mona'! I must admit, although they have quietened down somewhat, we were hearing Mona moan when we crawled into bed close to midnight! How hard is it to either keep it down or SHUT YOUR WINDOWS??!!! We are looking forward to moving away from Mona and just thank God that our boys are deep sleepers!
