We packed the kids up for the day and drove to Ballarat to spend the day with the Grills. We arrived in time for lunch and of course there was an amazing spread of cakes, biscuits, slices and hot food for afternoon tea. Although exhausted from the previous day of celebrations we had a great time seeing the family and getting together with all the cousins and extended Grills family.
The boys had a wonderful time playing with all their cousins. Thomas who has been adamant that baby Grills is a girl has since changed his mind after cuddling with our newest nephew, Elijah. Now he believes that baby Grills is a boy and his name is also Elijah!
When it came to blowing out the candles, Grandpa Norman had no chance of blowing them out himself - It was an effort to keep the children 1 step from the cake! The Grills however, had an innovative way of keeping the cake free of water (otherwise known as drool, spit or plain old saliva!) - GLAD WRAP! For all you play group mums... cover the cake with glad wrap before placing on the candles and you can protect yourself from blowers like Zach!
The day ended with a spectacular bonfire and some great shots of Grandpa Norman with his four children and 7 of the 8 grandsons!
