The Eye of the Storm

Camping at South West Rocks was named the eye of the storm - 2 weeks of blissful playing at the beach, relaxing with good friends, and admiring the view.

Our days involved an early morning walk with daddy to feed the fish, a morning play at the beach, lunch, sleeps, afternoon play at the beach or playground, ice cream, dinner and bed. The boys enjoyed playing with the gorgeous Geoghegan girls and many a game was played in their tent. Enjoy it now boys because there will be NO playing inside the tents in years to come!

The Alexander family arrived in the second week and there were 7 boys to 3 girls. We met the newest addition to their family, a fourth boy named Cody. We met the Alexanders camping at South West Rocks last year and were joking about them being pregnant again for camping this year - they did one better, and gave birth only 2 and half weeks before camping!!



Peter and Annabell Reid also arrived in the second week and pulled up in the camp site next to us. They brought with them the newest addition to their family too - Samuel the puppy, along with long time companion Bundy.

We met Peter and Annabell camping at South West Rocks 2 years ago. They adored our boys and babysat for us while Matt and I enjoyed the odd swim together. What was theirs, was ours they said so we borrowed surf skis and snorkels. We were overwhelmed by their generosity and friendship as they welcomed us to join their BBQ family Christmas gathering, including memorable fresh prawns and oysters!

We kept in touch to discover that when we moved to Brisbane earlier this year we ended up living about 500metres from each other. I had even checked out a rental house across the road from them! We shared a few meals in Brisbane together and were excited to have them camping again.



We enjoyed relaxing at their campsite planning the years ahead at South West Rocks over a glass of wine.



Their generosity continued as they put together a 'farewell' dinner for us with fresh prawns and oysters. The kids enjoyed their fish 'n' chips all lined up admiring the view and watching the dolphins.



We had so much fun camping with everyone and although we would have loved to have stayed the extra week we had the advantage of having every one's help to pack up!
