Welcome to our very first blog! We have been inspired by some great blogger friends to create a blog where we can keep family and friends updated in our lives. With another move quickly approaching we are sad to be moving from Brisbane yet again, but praise God for this year that we would have otherwise been spending in Toowoomba!
Matt has been posted at Victoria Barracks this year which has included the bonus of an espresso bar called 'The Garage' just across the road! And... it actually serves good coffee! We were introduced to 'The Garage' by a friend who found the espresso bar at Southbank when it first opened in Brisbane back in 2003. Due to us becoming regulars we learnt that the owner was a Melbourne boy (of course) who has made quite a profitable business here in Brisbane! As you can imagine, we were very excited to discover that he had opened a second espresso bar directly opposite the Vic Barracks! And to my surprise he remembered Matt and myself...
Needless to say, the boys and I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting 'daddy's work' and joining many a morning coffee break with Matt and his colleagues! Thomas and Zach have become quite attached with Alex (a colleague of Matt's) which has made visiting the Barracks a very exciting morning indeed! We look forward to our babyccinos, coffees and sometimes we are given chocolate filled croissants.
We have had quite a hectic year trying to cram in as much of 'Brisbane' as we can in between Matt's travels. For us that has meant frequent trips to 'The Garage', Di Bella factory where we buy fresh coffee beans (and babyccinos and coffee), meeting up with friends at Southbank for a splash in the water, attending playgroup, and trips to either the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.
With only 5weeks left in Brisbane we are gearing up for the next prepack and removal on November 29/30 and making the most of the Brisbane lifestyle! We are going to greatly miss our friends here in Brisbane but look forward to returning permanently in the future.
So... Here's to the Blog! We hope that you will feel more connected to our family as you read about our travels and adventures despite the distance. As our family grows I am finding it more difficult to uproot and replant our lives in various places but are grateful for the wonderful friends we have made along the way.

I think it's very appropriate that the Mixed Grills first blog entry focuses heavily on coffee! He he. :-)
We will miss you guys too, but look forward to keeping up with your news on the blog.
